Thank you for purchasing Prido dash camera

Thank you for purchasing Prido dash camera.

This user manual contains technical specifications, safety, installation and operating instructions. Read carefully all the instructions and warnings in the manual before initial use.

Installing the memory card

The camera requires a microSD™ or microSDHC memory card up to 128GB with a speed rating of class 10 or higher and FAT32 formatting. If the card is incompatible, the device may not read it.

Please insert memory card into the slot as shown in the illustration (1.1) hold the card by the edges and gently insert it until it clicks. To remove a card press it to release and pull it out. Turn the device off before removing the card.

Installation of front (mirror) and rear camera

Connect the charger to your device using the USB connector, then plug the other end into the cigarette lighter socket. Connect the rear camera to the front camera (see Figure 1.1 for a connection diagram).

CAUTION: The rear camera should be connected only when the device is switched off. Connecting the camera to the DVR when it is switched on may damage the plug and cause image display interference.

Mount the rear camera at the back of the car and route the cable so that it does not obstruct your view or impede driving. In most cars, the best solution is to route the cable under the gaskets located along the top edge of the doors or run it under the headliner.

See Figures 1.2 and 1.3 for suggestions on how to route the cable.

Suggested rear camera mounting options

Before installing the rear camera, verify that the camera cable length is appropriate for the installation.

The rear camera can be mounted like a classic reversing camera by leading it outside the vehicle through the tailgate and attaching it with screws to the registration frame or directly to the tailgate. Depending on the car model, in order to carry out this operation it will be necessary to drill additional holes in the tailgate or use the technological holes left by the car manufacturer.

The camera can also be mounted on the rear window. For this purpose we suggest using 2 neodymium magnets. A schematic of this mounting solution is shown in Fig. 1.4. Neodymium magnets are not included in the kit and must be purchased separately.

After installing both cameras, make sure the cigarette lighter socket is powered. Start the camera and use the view switch button (Figure 1.5, button number 13) to check, whether both cameras work properly.

The image is adjusted manually (by manually adjusting the camera lens angle) and electronically (using the arrow buttons numbered 16 and 18 in Figure 1.5).

If both cameras have been connected correctly, they will record the video simultaneously. The recorded files will be stored in separate folders on the memory card inserted in the unit.

Reversing camera installation

The rear camera included in the kit can also be used as a reversing camera.

To do this, use the included mounting kit to connect the camera to the reversing light harness. The red cable of the mounting kit should be connected to the car’s reverse light.

We do not recommend that you perform this operation yourself, if you do not have the appropriate knowledge of car electrics. We recommend that the reversing camera be installed only by specialists. When the rear camera is connected to the reverse lights, the reversing camera function will automatically activate when the driver puts the car in reverse gear.

Note:

When the reversing camera is properly mounted, the default screen displayed on the unit’s screen after starting will be the rear camera view.

To change the view, use the view toggle button (Figure 1.5, button number 13).

Battery warranty

According to this warranty, the battery contained in the Prido product will not have any manufacturing or material defects for six months from the date of purchase. After six months from the date of purchase, complaints related to the work and/or performance of the device battery will not be considered unless they are directly related to the manufacturing or material defect of the device itself.

MicroSD memory cards and warranty

Due to the variety of microSD cards available on the market, their different specifications and years of manufacture, we are not able to ensure that every card available from the official distribution will work flawlessly with any of our devices, even if the card size and speed criteria are satisfied. Prido does not manufacture microSD cards, therefore cards that do not function properly in Prido devices cannot be the basis of a complaint procedure.

If the memory card causes problems in the Prido device (e.g. it cannot be formatted correctly in the device or keeps prompting to be re-formatted) it may be helpful to reformat it to change the file system to FAT32. A detailed description of this operation can be found at: https://prido.pl/ex-fat-fat32/

Many memory card manufacturers stipulate that cards used in loop recording devices, including video recorders, are not covered by the warranty because these types of devices place a significant strain on the card by having to continuously record data. We recommend that you should review the memory card manufacturer’s warranty terms before you purchase the card.

Recommended accessories

The camera has an input connector for the GPS module which extends the functionality of the recorder by displaying the position on the recording and the speed at which the car is moving. GPSM1 module can be purchased at pride.pl and from authorized partners.
